Thousands of years ago, when the world was a primitive place, a morbid mystic gathered a vast assembly of social outcasts for a pilgrimage across the great southern seas to the harsh jungles of another continent. On distant tropical shores they founded a great city of monoliths and vine-snared idols. The mystic preached of massive metal plates containing a large fragment of the Draconic Prophecy. His beguiled followers scoured the darkened jungle until they produced the plates, and confirmed his apocalyptic premonition. They spoke of a time of terror, a reign of death, when dragon and human alike will be corrupted and enslaved by the ancient evils. In this sweltering jungle, the charismatic madman vowed to bring about this bold new era. As hundreds of his followers sacrificed themselves for the glory of his vision, the twisted prophet declared himself the Harbinger of the Age of Worms.

Little do they realize the taint that squirms beneath the bowels of their little town could shake the foundations of Eberron itself.
